2014,2024 is a typical hard aluminum alloy in the aluminum-copper-magnesium series. Its composition is reasonable and its comprehensive performance is good. This alloy is produced in many countries and is the largest amount of hard aluminum. The characteristics of this alloy are: high strength, certain heat resistance, can be used as working parts below 150 ° C.
Above 125 ° C, the strength of 2024 alloy is higher than that of 7075 alloy. The forming performance is better in the hot state, annealing and new quenching states, and the heat treatment strengthening effect is significant, but the heat treatment process is strict. Poor corrosion resistance, but covered with pure aluminum can be effectively protected; cracks are easy to occur during welding, but special processes can be used for welding and riveting. Widely used in aircraft structures, rivets, truck wheel hubs, propeller elements and other various structural parts.
